<p>Oprettede siden med &#039;<a href="/index.php?title=Vejle_Amat%C3%B8r_Symfoniorkester" class="mw-redirect" title="Vejle Amatør Symfoniorkester">Vejle Amatør Symfoniorkester</a> blev dannet 12. oktober 1966, hvor <a href="/index.php?title=Vejle_Amat%C3%B8r_Musikforening&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1" class="new" title="Vejle Amatør Musikforening (siden er ikke skrevet endnu)">Vejle Amatør Musikforening</a> blev etableret. Orkestret begyndte under navnet <a href="/index.php?title=%C3%98stjysk_Privatorkester&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1" class="new" title="Østjysk Privatorkester (siden er ikke skrevet endnu)">Østjysk Privatorkester</a>…&#039;</p> <p><b>Ny side</b></p><div>[[Vejle Amatør Symfoniorkester]] blev dannet 12. oktober 1966, hvor [[Vejle Amatør Musikforening]] blev etableret. Orkestret begyndte under navnet [[Østjysk Privatorkester]]. Hovedinitiativtageren var politimester [[Ralf Gøbel]].<br /> <br /> I begyndelsen var der ikke så mange musikere, at der var tale om et egentligt symfoniorkester, men omkring 1970 havde man nået en størrelse, at der kunne spilles symfonisk musik med korrekt besætning. I alt 48 amatørmusikere sad i orkestret, da det i 1971 blev omdøbt til Vejle Amatør Symfoniorkester.<br /> <br /> Fra 1975 blev orkestrets koncerter afholdt på [[Rødkilde Gymnasium]] - indtil da havde det været på [[Petersmindeskolen]]. Og fra 1978 var tilstrømningen til koncerter så stor, at man rykkede til [[Idrættens Hus]]. Første gang, Vejle Amatør Symfoniorkester havde en professionel solist, var da pianisten i begyndelsen af 1970'erne spillede Beethovens klaverkoncert nr. 2. Af andre solister kan nævnes Manne Østergård, Kim Sjøgren, Verner Nicolet, Lars Thodberg Bertelsen, Willy Stolarczyk, Christina Aastrand og mange flere.<br /> <br /> I 2005 blev orkestret navn forenklet til Vejle Symfoniorkester.</div>
