<p><b>Ny side</b></p><div>I juni 1904 blev Vejles første børnehjælpsdag afholdt. Formålet var at samle penge ind til vanskeligt stillede børn, og foreningen [[Børnenes Vel]] blev derfor dannet i november samme år, så denne kunne stå for afholdelsen af børnehjælpsdagene.<br />

Børnehjælpsdagen var især præget af de mange optog, der drog gennem gaderne. Det kunne firmaer, der havde lavet specielt udsmykkede vogne, eller det kunne være skoler eller foreninger. I forbindelse med optogene, blev raslebøsserne så holdt frem, så vejlenserne kunne bidrage til det gode formål. Børnehjælpsdagen udviklede sig hurtigt til den nok vigtigste byfest i Vejle frem til 1966.<br />
